How To Create Odp Source System In Sap Bw

Prerequisites

  1. You have made the following settings in Customizing, under :

    • General connection settings

    • Perform automatic workflow Customizing

  2. As a rule, system changes are not permitted in production systems. Connecting a system as a source system to a BW or connecting a BW to a new source system results in changes in terms of system change options however. In the client used in the BW system, you have therefore made sure that the following changes are permitted during the source system connection:

    • Cross-client Customizing and repository changes

In Customizing, under , select the client in question and choose . In the Cross-Client Object Changes field, select Changes to Repository and Cross-Client Customizing Allowed.

    • Changes to the local developments and Business Information Warehouse software components

You use transaction SE03 (Organizer Tools) to set the change options. Choose and press Execute. On the next screen, make the following settings:.

    • Changes to the customer name range

You also use transaction SE03 to set the change option for the customer name range.

    • Changes to BW namespaces /BWC/ and /BW0/

You also use transaction SE03 to set the change option for the BW namespaces.

  3. If you want to connect an SAP Business ByDesign system: Make sure that you have the required information and that the required settings have been made in the BW system.

More information: Notes about transferring data from SAP Business ByDesign systems using ODP

  4. If you want to connect a source via SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server (SLT), make sure that the connection to the data source has been set up there.

More information: Transferring Data from SLT Using Operational Data Provisioning

Procedure

  1. In the source system tree in the Data Warehousing Workbench, choose Create in the context menu for the ODP folder.
  2. In the Logical System Name field, enter a technical name for the source system.
  3. Enter a description for the source system.
  4. Wählen Sie Weiter (Weiter).
  5. In the next dialog box, specify whether the connection should be made using RFC or HTTP/SOAP and configure the connection parameters accordingly. Communication with SAP HANA could be via RFC for example, while communication with SAP Business ByDesign could be via HTTP/SOAP.
    • RFC

If you have selected RFC, the system displays the destination maintenance screen for connection type ABAP, where you can enter the destination parameters. Falls in der Quelle bereits der Hintergrundbenutzer im Quellsystem existiert, geben Sie diesen bei der Pflege der Destination an. Save and test your destination and then go back.

      More information: Maintaining Remote Destinations

    • HTTP/SOAP

If you have selected HTTP/SOAP, another dialog box appears that guides you to the Web service configuration screen in SOA Manager (or lets you check whether a Web service configuration/logical port already exists).

In the Web service configuration screen, you create and configure a logical port for the default consumer proxy CO_RSDSPX_ODP_IN. Check and save the consumer proxy and go back to the Data Warehousing Workbench.

More information: Configuring the Consumer Proxy

  6. The source system is now displayed under the ODP folder in the Data Warehousing Workbench.
  7. Weisen Sie dem ODP-Quellsystem den passenden Kontext zu.

The context in the ODP framework describes a non-local SAP repository that maps its metadata in the ODP framework. The context can be compared with a schema in a database.

Die verfügbaren Kontexte hängen von der Quelle ab. Die folgende Liste zeigt mögliche Kontexte auf:

    SAP-Repository Kontext
    BW-System (für Data-Mart-Szenario) BW
    SAP-System mit DataSources (Extraktoren) SAPI
    SAP-HANA-Datenbank eines ABAP-Systems HANA
SAP-System über SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server SLT~<Queue-Alias>
    SAP Business ByDesign BYD
    1. To assign the source system to a context, choose Select Context in the context menu for the source system.

The system displays a list of available contexts for the source system.

    2. Markieren Sie den relevanten Kontext und wählen Sie Übernehmen.

  8. For HTTP/SOAP: Close the SOA Manager.

Results

You can now create DataSources for this source system.
